SUU Bespoke is a private, appointment-only studio in Kingston upon Thames.
This is where I fit and alter wedding dresses, evening gowns and occasionwear, and where most of the work is carried out from start to finish.
WHY I WORK BY APPOINTMENT
I choose to work this way because these dresses need time and attention.
During a fitting, I need to see how the dress sits when you stand and move, where it pulls, where it feels loose or heavy, and what needs to change before I begin altering it.
Every dress is fitted and altered by me, from the first fitting through to the final adjustments. I work on a small number of garments at a time so I can keep track of the fit, construction and details of each one
One woman at a time.
Most of the work happens quietly between fittings: opening seams, checking construction, reshaping, hand finishing and putting everything back together.
That is the part clients do not always see, but it is where most of the alteration work happens.
